Yes, Cilantro has that odd cleaning product essence to it. I love both your hates Dr. M, but I think broccoli (another love) is one of those universally hated/loved foods.
Forgive the suggestion, but you are probably not putting enough CHEESE on your cauliflower. Hee hee. Reminds me of a great Dickens quote, which I shall now make into my Quote of the Day.
Okra. It looks so pretty in the produce aisle, but I cannot stand the slime it produces when it's cooked. It reminds me of the gick that drips from the jaws of the creature in Alien.
I also loath lima beans. They have that papery coating that slips off when you try to take a bite. And the colour? Revolting.
Another thing I can't stand? Basil, when it's used in large quantities. Gives me a headache, quite literally.
But I have to come to the defence of cilantro. I find it bitter, but refreshingly so.
And of course, my number one favourite love-it-or-hate-it food has got to be Marmite. My mouth actually waters when I open the jar and smell it. In fact, I think I'm going to make myself some Marmite toast right now.
Unfortunately, I love all foods.
ReplyDeleteCilantro, I go easy on....it tastes a little bit like Comet scouring powder to me.
Cauliflower! Ptuey! No thank you!
ReplyDeleteIn the confections category; licorice allsorts are definitely not my cuppa tea!

ReplyDeleteActually, my mother makes a creamed cauliflower (yes, cheese is in the sauce) and only then would I savour a few flowerets :)
