A Visit to Sugar Beach

As part of the improvements being made along the lake shore here, we have Sugar Beach, built across from practically the last remaining bit of real industry in the downtown core of Toronto: the Redpath Sugar Factory. Large freighters come in regularly to offload their raw sugar (I can smell when they're in town from my home). Just across the wharf we have the delightful new beach studded with pink umbrellas and white Muskoka chairs. Across the way the view is Ward's Island, and a cool breeze has made this spot a welcome escape in these past few record-breakingly hot days.

A digger is still planting dozens of umbrellas. I love the colour!
