I don't practice giving something up for Lent, but it's always interesting to hear what people consider doing. Here's wishing you a huge Easter basket full of all things chocolate on April 4th! :)
I admire your determination. I simply can not give up anything (particularly that which brings pleasure). I am hopeless when it comes to give into temptations. Eventually I always do, just like Oscar Wilde.;) xo Zuzana
This year, instead of giving something up, I'm practicing a morning exercise. Why this matters to me right now is immaterial, but it's to, as soon as I wake, put on soft harp music to bring sweetness into the room, and then imagine--pretend even if I have to, anything goes, this is *my* dream, after all :-)--that there is someone in Heaven who is kind, compassionate, and who really loves me. NOT all that horrid stuff about "tough love," "this hurts me more than it hurts you," and blessings well-disguised as curses. I'm talking someone as kind as Santa Claus, who wants to give good things that are *clearly* delightful things. And then I kneel and unashamedly tell him everything I'd like and like changed, for me and others near me. They're all simple things, that matter. I'm after a spiritual love that feels like love.

Since you asked, I'm giving up Lent for Lent. It's so much simpler that way. btw, please pass the chocolates.
I made fudge brownies. They're fresh and warm and just so happens I have a little vanilla ice cream.
