Quote of the Day

"Well, Rick is the kind of man that... well, if I were a woman, and I were not around, I should be in love with Rick. But what a fool I am talking to a beautiful woman about another man."

Claude Rains as Captain Renault in Casablanca (1942)

My absolute favourite in this fab flick is gorgeous Victor Laszlo: "You know how you sound, Mr. Blaine? Like a man who's trying to convince himself of something he doesn't believe in his heart."
That is so awesome. Comments anyone? IF YOU DARE!! Come on, girlz.

I would have to concur, Anonymous, with your comment on the scintillating Paul Henreid. Lighting two cigarettes in his mouth to hand one to Bette Davis in "Now Voyager" was a fine accomplishment, not to mention his gentle melting of her New England neuroses.

But to conduct such a spirited rendition of the "Marseilles" under the acquiline noses of the vile Nazis in "Casablanca" was magnificent, not to mention his ability to remain inpeccable in his white suits in the heat and dust of North Africa. If Ingrid had to leave Rick behind for someone, it had to be Paul Henreid.

Yes, and I know who you are and no brownies for you!
