And home for grilled Thai satays on salad.

Is Cherry Beach close to Toronto? I went to Toronto once, to do a photo shoot for a publisher's new range of travel books. It was in May. We had rain, fog, sleet, near-zero temperatures; and everybody was wrapped up in winter coats and gloves. There was hardly a day in the two and a half weeks when the sky showed even a small patch of blue. Best of all, the idiot publishing director blamed me for the weather.

JJ: Sounds like a rough assignment. That's freakish for May. Toronto has a late spring, but by May we're in our sandals and soaking up the sun. As for Cherry Beach, it's right in Toronto, just east of downtown, at the bottom of Cherry Street, if you're checking on Google Maps.

Betsy: Thank you, and they were. I just needed a Betsy lemon bar to have with my post-dinner cup of tea. Num num.

Yes indeed. The TV was showing pictures of Indians in the North West Territories sunbathing with their shirts off (the men, that is!) The weather was back to front that year.

But here's a funny thing. If that picture of you is accurate, you look uncanily like my 'minder' from the MTCVA - Catherine McNab, who claimed to be half Scottish, half German. This wouldn't be an 'Invasion of the Bodysnatchers' thing, would it?

Zuzana: Happy Spring back at you, dear Zuzana!

JJ: Hmmm... intriguing. One of my neighbours works in the north end of the city and swears he sees my doppelganger up there every day. Huh!
