Happy Trails, Ginger Donut

It's with a heavy heart that I report the passing of our dear old Tibby. My parents' home feels a little empty tonight, so they are visiting me after a long, hard day, the only day he was ever really ill. This morning Tibby was a bit lethargic, with some bad breathing. Kind Dr. Aarabi came to my parents' home this evening and it was all over very soon, with no need for a stressful trip to the vet. Tibby's problem was heart failure. We have shed so many tears but now are drinking toasts with Orvieto Classico and - for me - Guinness.

Readers of this blog, and all our friends know what a gentle and funny cat he was, and what a handsome fellow too, as his photographs attest. You can visit him here.

R.I.P. dear Tibby. We love you so much.

Ohhhhhh, dearest BPG. You have no idea how very, very saddened I am by this news. I, too, am raising a glass to our furry, ginger boy - the loveliest of cats. I so enjoyed his company and will miss his sweet sounds. Kindest of thoughts for you and your folks.

To Tibby.

Ti vogliamo bene. Baci. Giorgio e Luisa

Oh, my dear friend, I am so sorry.:( I know you loved that furry little darling more than words can express and as another fellow cat lover I can truly relate to the sorrow that is in your heart right now. A sorrow that will never go away, but only lessen with time. I hope all the lovely memories of the happiness he brought your way though will make it more easier to bear.
Man hugs and kisses from me and Batcat

Oh, Gianna, I'm so sorry to hear that. What terrible news. Tibbles was such a lovely, generous ginger boy.

I shall miss rubbing his belly with my foot and giving him squashy kisses on the top of his head.

You and your parents must be devastated.

This is so sad, can't believe how quickly it happened. My thoughts are with you as a fellow lover and owner of a ginger cat! I regret not having met him, but feel like I know him.

Thank you all so much for your beautiful comments. They mean so much to all of us and made me cry, in a good way! To those of you who knew Tibby in person, I thank you for sharing his qualities here. For those of you who knew him only through this blog, I really appreciate you taking the time to post your comments. Isn't the internet an amazing phenomenon, when good people from all over are compelled to comment on the life of a good cat? Thank you again. xoxoxoxo

So sorry for the loss of beloved Tibby, G.

I seem to remember a short clip of Tibby saying 'hello.' I was hooked from that moment.

After a short time, perhaps within days, Tibby will appear often in your dreams after night falls and provide a great comfort.
Just like a dog I once knew.

Thank you Phil. And you're right about Tibby. Here is his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li8rSHF-a2U

I remember about your dear dog, Muffin. What a moving story.

Judie: Truly spoken. Tibby is sorely missed. Thank you for your visit.

Been a while since I stopped by, and of course I was devastated to hear about Tibby. Cats insinuate themselves into our lives in the most subtle ways, but their absence is anything but subtle--it's immediate and devastating. I will think of him as I tend to my ever-increasing brood.
