Riverdale Farm was once the Toronto Zoo, which is hard to imagine, as it's not a big place. Of course since then the Toronto Zoo has opened and it's a great, big place on the outskirts of the city. Riverdale Farm then came into being, an opportunity for city kids to see how a 19th-century farm might be run. It's a little haven in the city, and one of my favourite places to escape to.
I love the farm house, the sort of building I'd love to own, but in the country!
The gardens are full of fragrant herbs.

The smaller barn where the chickens hang out. If you're there at the right time, you can purchase some very free-range eggs, usually a small carton featuring eggs of very different sizes.
